Yesterday we had a guest speaker from the Cobb County Watershed come speak to us about water usage and the importance of conserving. Today we did an escape room to help us review for our test tomorrow! Make sure you are STUDYING for your test tonight and getting your folder in order!! HW: STUDY FOR TEST TOMORROW! Today we went over our homework that we did in class yesterday (the tides Gizmo). We also got started on research for our Ocean's Essay. Today we went over our Salinity Lab and had time in class to finish our summary questions and to do our double line graph. We also discussed waves and tides and took some notes to put in our science folder. Today we took a short quiz on currents (it was pretty hard!) and we started our lab on salinity and density and how it effects currents. We will finish this sheet in class on Monday, so make sure you bring it then.

Today we went over upwelling, El Nino and La Nina. You may want to review this part of the power point again to make sure that you are clear on the concept. We also got some practice on surface currents and their temperatures and watched Bill Nye!! HW: Finish your temperature effects surface currents sheet! Study for a quiz on currents tomorrow :) Final Submission for Boxtops is February 15! So far the ECMS PTSA has raised $337 from Boxtops. Please send in all your collected Boxtops in a baggie with your child’s name and homeroom teacher. Bring all Boxtops to the blue collection box in the main hallway across from the attendance office. Each grade homeroom with the most boxtops will receive a donut party. Thanks for helping support the PTSA!
Today we talked about surface and deep ocean currents and what causes them. We also watched a quiz brain pop on ocean currents (I HIGHLY recommend watching this again!), we also took a short quiz on the ocean floor features, and were given a little time in class to work on our homework. HW: Finish Currents Practice Sheet (front and back!)
Today we were able to make our 3D models finally! Those that did not get their foldable done were able to have class time to work on it, but if you were unable to get to the lab, you will need to come in early to make it up.
