Today we went to the computer lab to finish up some assignments before we go on break. Remember to get the following done during break: 1. Rocky Trip Through Georgia Project (map and your choice of postcards, diary, photo story, or brochure) DUE MONDAY!! 2. Remediation if you made below an 80% on Unit 2 Test. This is DUE MONDAY and must be complete in order for you to retake your test 3. Unit 3 Vocabulary DUE MONDAY!! 4. Any missing work DUE MONDAY!! You have PLENTY of time to get these things done. Make sure your projects are of quality work. Have a great break, have fun, be safe, and get some rest!

Today in the computer lab you need to pace yourself and prioritize! What do you need to work on the most? Things that you need to make sure you get done by the time we get back from break:
1. Rocky Trip Through Georgia Project 2. Unit 2 Remediation or Enrichment 3. Unit 3 Vocabulary 4. All Missing work (if this applies to you) Use this time wisely!!!! Refer to the previous blog posts for websites and resources to use on your project. Ms. Dudek still has postcard templates if you chose to do that option on your project. Today we took our test for Unit 2 on the three types of rocks! Congratulations to Kayla, Julian, Harry and Hamsika for making 100% on the test today!! We also took our pre-test for Unit 3, got our word search for Unit 3 and turned in our Unit 2 folders. Some of you got a progress report with your missing assignments, so make sure that gets signed tonight if you are below an 80%. Tomorrow we will be working on our projects in the computer lab to make sure to bring something to work on if you need to. HW: Finish your Unit 3 Word Search TOMORROW IS HAT DAY FOR $1.00
Today we were able to go over metamorphic rocks and even review by playing kahoot! Our test is tomorrow so make sure you STUDY your materials, look at the edpuzzles again, and look at your pre-test again to see if you can answer all of the questions on it. HW: STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! Unit 2 Folder is due tomorrow so make sure you get it in order according to the picture below Your Georgia Regions Project is due October 3rd so make sure you are still working on it. NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!! Today we went over metamorphic rocks, even looked at samples! We completed our lab and took a quick quiz on metamorphic rocks too. Tomorrow we will review for our test! HW: Finish your Metamorphic Practice Sheet. If you did not finish your Metamorphic Lab, you can finish it here by looking at the pictures below, or you can look at the actual samples when you get to class tomorrow really quickly. Remember that our 9 weeks are up when we get back from break. You MUST maintain at least an 80% in order to stay off probation for your AC classes so make sure you are turning in missing work!
Today we were able to finish our notes on metamorphic rocks and a basic overview of the rock cycle. We also had time to work on our rock stations in class as well, and even completed the 'watch it' station as a class. HW: Finish your Rock Stations if you haven't already Unit 2 Test is THURSDAY Unit 2 Folder is due THURSDAY Metamorphic Rock Quiz will be tomorrow!
Today we went over sedimentary rocks and also were able to look at a few samples of sedimentary rocks during our sedimentary lab. Remember that there are three types of sedimentary rocks! We may or may not have a quiz tomorrow :) HW: Finish your sedimentary rock lab! Project is due October 3rd, so be working on it! If you need a Georgia Map or Postcard Templates let me know

Today we had our last day in the computer lab, working on our 'Rocky Trip Through Georgia' project. Remember that you must identify two specific rocks that you found in each region and explain them in your project. Make sure you follow the rubric and include EVERYTHING that you need. You should also be keeping up with your resource list as well.

Hopefully you were able to get a lot done. Tomorrow we will be in the computer lab again to work on it, but it will be the last time we have time to work on it in class, so make sure you get most of it done! Remember, it is due October 3rd! You must have at least two specific rocks that you find in each region and you must explain how it is formed and why you think you found it there. (It may be helpful to look at a georgia geological map to see what types of rocks are found in each region for this part)
