Today we took a field trip to Mercedes Benz Stadium! I hope everyone had a wonderful time! HW: Finish your moon practice sheet Moon Calendar due April 16th!
Today we went over moon phases and eclipses. We took some quick notes, watched a brainpop, and got started on our homework. HW: Moon Practice Moon Calendar due April 16th I have attached the Spring Break packet as well as the Novel Study document. Please take a look if you feel you will not be at school Friday, or if you'd like to go ahead and purchase your own copy of the novels you chose.
Today we had a surprise visit from the BioBus from Georgia State University. We were able to solve a mystery using forensic sciences. We did fingerprinting, blood typing, and went over DNA.

We also discussed the differences between asteroids, comets, meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites. We also had time to get started on our comic strips! Today we took a short quiz on the planets. We were also able to take a quick gallery walk of the different theories that you guys came up with on how the universe was created. We voted on most creative, and most realistic.

Today we took a short quiz over everything we have discussed in Unit 8 so far, and we were also able to make a "Universe in a Box"! We also received our 3rd quarter report card envelopes, so make sure you get those signed and returned tomorrow. HW: 1st, 2nd, and 4th period: Seasons Challenge Sheet Moon Calendar!
Today we were able to do some research about the planets in our solar system and present our findings to the class. 3rd period had a guest speaker from the Watershed Stewardship program who taught us how to identify bugs near our streams and how they effect water quality. Tomorrow, everyone will have a short quiz over the information we have learned in Unit 8 so far.

Today some of us were able to practice taking dissolved oxygen levels with Ms. Dove from the Watershed Stewardship program. It was fun mixing chemicals and taking samples of water in order to see if it had high levels of oxygen or not. 3rd period was able to do research on each of the planets in our solar system and present this information to the rest of the class. HW: Study for a quiz on Wednesday! Moon Calendar Solar System edpuzzle is due on WEDNESDAY! (Last one!!)
