Today we went over natural resources in class, and we got to complete a natural resource lab. Remember: if it comes from nature it is natural, and if humans use it, it's a resource! Welcome back! Today we had a good catch-up day so we were able to get our missing assignments (if you had any) and also have some time to answer questions on our Skittles Lab or Metric Flip Books. ALL grades are updated in ParentVue and StudentVue so make sure you take a look to see what you have missing.
HW: Finish your graphing and analyzing sheet from today. Also make sure you watch the Natural Resource Flipped Video on Edpuzzle! We will have a lab tomorrow that will require you to know the information presented in the video.
Today we had extra time to finish our metric flip books in class. We also completed a skittles lab sheet that will help us with our graphing and analyzing skills. Our 'Do Nows' were graded for the first week as well, so make sure you turn in your warm up journal if you haven't already to receive a grade. For those of you that are new: make sure you watch the EdPuzzle Lab Safety video and get your syllabus and flipped video letter signed. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns! HW: Finish your Skittles Graphing Sheet! You should have counted the amount of skittles you had per color in order to allow you to complete the entire sheet this weekend.

We also worked on our Sugar Cube Lab Sheet and we finished graphing our results. Tomorrow we will be taking a pre-test on natural resources, so if you have time, you may look up information about it. HW: Make sure you finish your Sugar Cube Lab Sheet including the graph, lab safety, and conclusion. The questions to answer during your conclusion are below. Conclusion Questions: 1. Did the sugar dissolve at the same rate during both trials? Explain why or why not. 2. Do you think one large rock or several smaller rocks would wear away faster? Explain your answer. 3. Was your hypothesis correct? If not, what is your new IF... THEN statement? Today we completed another lab with sugar cubes after we turned in our Bubble Gum Lab Sheet! We asked ourselves, "How does weathering effect dissolve time?" We were able to determine that if a sugar cube is weathered, it dissolves quicker. Remember that we will finish this lab write-up tomorrow after our project presentations. HW: Work on your projects! Have a quick presentation ready to show everyone your CREATIVE and Visually Appealing rule!
