Yesterday was a little hectic with the Memoir projects (they were wonderful by the way) so I apologize for not having a post.
Wednesday: We reviewed for our midterm and took our Oceans quiz Today: We took our midterm, your lowest test score was replaced with your midterm score if it was higher. So if you check your grade tonight, hopefully it has risen a little :) HW: Performance Tasks #1-9 were given out today, finish them by 1/5/16! Today Mr. Pendergrass from Georgia Power came and spoke to us about renewable and nonrenewable energy resources. Make sure you test out your sunglasses to see if they change colors in the sun!
HW: Study for your Oceans quiz for tomorrow and also your Midterm on Thursday Today we started our study guide for our Midterm that will happen on Thursday. DO NOT PANIC!!! Important: Yes, we will have a Midterm. However, the grade that you receive from the midterm will replace your lowest test grade from this semester if your midterm grade is higher. If your midterm grade is NOT higher than any of your test grades, then it will not go into the grade book. HW: STUDY!! Midterm Thursday and a quick quiz on Wednesday over Ocean locations and basic information.
Today we started on our vocabulary for Unit 6 on Oceans. We also labeled the 5 oceans and the continents, watched a quick brainpop, and even used a new app called 'Quiver'. If you have time, make sure you download the app to see your drawing become 3d! I have posted a video of this below. HW: Watch the Oceans video and fill in your notes. Finish your vocabulary if you are not done and finish the labeling side on the back. Bring in play-dough if you can!
Today we took our Unit 5 test on Freshwater (grades are already in the grade book) and we also started writing 'My life as a drip' stories. HW: Finish your story. We will be starting Unit 6 tomorrow If you would still like to donate play-dough, we are in DESPERATE need of more!

Today we went over ground water, aquifers, zone of aeration and zone of saturation. We also made a cloud in a jar!! HW: Performance Tasks #5-8 are due FRIDAY. Test THURSDAY. Skills tutor 'oceans' is due Friday too.

We will be completing a writing assignment tomorrow that has to do with this. 5. Go to www.explorelearning.com and sign in with Username: 6Bdudek Password: Ecms Click on the 'water cycle' gizmo and play around with it. When you are ready, take the quiz at the bottom of the page. Write down your QUESTION AND ANSWER on your sheet of paper (There are only 5 questions) 6. Study for your Water test on THURSDAY!!! HW: Make sure you have finished ALL of your skillstutor activities. Remember to check on your water cycle baggie this weekend if you brought it home to tape on a window. Today we went over our homework on the water cycle and made our water cycle baggies. If you want to make another one you can :) Make sure if you opted to take it home that you tape it on a window that gets a lot of sunlight. You can add food coloring into your water if you would like to track the water that way.

Did you know that only 1% of the Earth's water is water that we can use? The other 2% of fresh water is either frozen or very deep underground. We also received our Unit 5 vocabulary to complete. HW: Watch the water distribution video and fill in your notes. Make sure you label the diagram on the back of your notes as well.
